ROLLA, Mo. -- Coming off a big win Sunday at Central Missouri State, the Lady Miners came out flat Wednesday night and paid the price for it.
Missouri-St. Louis got an early goal from Lindsey Jones and was able to bottle up the Lady Miners for the balance of the night to come away with a 2-0 victory at the UMR Soccer Complex.
After the Riverwomen (8-3) got the lead, the Lady Miners had a tough time mustering an offensive attack. UMR (3-4-1) was outshot by a 27-3 margin in the game and forced UMSL goalie Rebecca Senn to have to make only two saves.
UMR's Ana Mora was credited with 10 saves in the contest. The two shots she didn't stop were the ones by Jones at the 10:49 mark of the first half, and a rebound goal by Sonya Hauan at 79:26, after an initial shot by Lindsey Siemens went off the crossbar.
UMR will host Rockhurst Saturday at 8 p.m. at the UMR Soccer Complex as part of Homecoming on campus.
