FULTON, Mo. -- A one-day delay didn't exactly help the Lady Miner soccer team Wednesday afternoon as it was routed by William Woods 4-0.

All four goals against the Lady Miners came in the first half of play. Erin Jewell got the Owls on the board 7:43 into play, then goals by Christy McPherson, Viktoria Bjorklund and Nina Hedlund gave William Woods its four-goal margin by the intermission. The teams played a scoreless second half.

William Woods outshot UMR by a 6-4 margin in the game, as Julie Peterson recorded her third straight shutout for the Owls (4-2). Ana Mora made two saves for the Lady Miners.

UMR (2-2-1, 1-0-1 MIAA) will return to conference play Friday at Missouri Southern. Game time will be 7 p.m. in Joplin, Mo.
