Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2001

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- As was the case on Sunday, the Miner soccer team dominated its opponent Wednesday as it concluded the 2001 season with a 3-0 victory over Lincoln University.

With the win, the Miners finished the year with a record of 10-4-2, their third 10-win season in the last four years. UMR was a strong finisher this as it had a mark of 8-2-2 in its final 12 games.

The Miners got on the board at the 34:08 mark when Cory Winter scored an unassisted goal. A little over seven minutes later, Luke Enna -- who finished the season as UMR's scoring leader with 11 goals and two assists -- scored on a rebound of a shot by Sean Ackley.

Enna concluded the scoring with an unassisted goal of his own 11 minutes into the second half.

UMR outshot the Blue Tigers (2-12) by a 13-2 margin. Dan Larson got the start in goal and was not credited with a save.
