CONWAY, Ark. -- Sunday's game started well for the University of Missouri-Rolla, but it didn't end up that way.

After jumping out to a 2-0 lead in the first nine minutes of play, the Miners' offense went virtually dormant for the rest of the afternoon as they suffered a 3-2 loss to Central Arkansas.

UMR took the lead just 6:14 into play as Chris Shaw scored on an assist from Adam Dancler. Shaw then assisted on the Miners' second goal, scored by E.J. Klapperich, at the 8:49 mark of the game.

However, the wheels came off for the Miners shortly thereafter. UCA's Gabriel Gallucci scored just 1:04 after the Klapperich goal to cut the lead to 2-1, then Danny George tied the game with a goal at the 16:13 mark.

The game settled down for a while, but the Bears were able to get the game-winning goal at the 67:30 mark when Ryan McKean scored an unassisted goal.

UCA (4-1) outshot the Miners 17-8 for the game, as the Miners had only three shots on goal after taking the 2-0 lead. Todd Wilfling was credited with three saves for the Miners (2-2).

The Miners will play at William Woods Tuesday at 5 p.m.
