ROLLA, Mo. -- Truman State University scored twice in the first 16 minutes of play and went on to beat the Lady Miners in their home finale Sunday by the score of 3-0.

Truman, ranked sixth in the latest NSCAA Division II national rankings, wasted little time in getting the lead as Sara Murray -- who scored twice in Truman's 5-0 win over UMR in Kirksville earlier this month -- got a goal just 40 seconds into the game.

Murray took a feed from Anna Sonderman and got a breakaway, then put a shot past UMR goalkeeper Ana Mora to give the Bulldogs (16-1, 10-0 MIAA) the only goal it would need.

Sonderman also assisted on the second goal, as she made a feed in front to Kelli Best for a tally at 15:36.

Truman got its third goal early in the second half, as Ellen Wright took a pass from Murray and put it in at the 49:26 mark to wrap up the scoring.

The Bulldogs outshot the Lady Miners (4-8-3, 3-5-2 MIAA) 27-5 in the game. Mora was credited with seven saves for UMR, which finishes its schedule with two games on the road next weekend.

UMR plays at Emporia State Saturday at noon before finishing the season the following day at Northwest Missouri State.
