Roland Jr. of Lake Ozark, Mo., received an award for 50 years of membership in the American Chemical Society. The award was presented April 16 at the University of Missouri-Rolla by Dr. Michael Van De Mark, president of the South Central Missouri Section of ACS and an associate professor of chemistry at UMR. Roland graduated from Purdue University in 1942 with a bachelor's degree in microbiology and biochemistry. He wrote 16 scientific publications, contributed to three scientific books and was awarded 15 patents. 422-MW HR
