DET 442,

This upcoming fall semester shows a great deal of promise for all of our cadets and I look forward to working with each and every one of you. The AS300 class returning from field training are eager and ready to begin teaching the underclassmen the knowledge, logistics, and lessons they've learned. Likewise, the AS400 class is ready to take on a higher level of responsibility while challenging the detachment and moving it to new heights.

Within the fall training plan are skills needed to become adjusted and successful in ROTC. Training will begin with the fundamentals and move toward Field Training Prep where cadets will successfully work with and compete against cadets from across the country during a summer training program. Wing Staff has several activities planned that will challenge cadets, develop their leadership abilities, and encourage camaraderie. We look forward to meeting and working with the new cadets. We know they will work hard and excel at the challenging road ahead of them. Congratulations to those returning cadets as they progress in their ROTC careers and move the Detachment forward.

Together Detachment 442 will continue to serve as a family to each of you cadets. The lifelong friendships start here and carry on through active duty service. The potential to be an excellent Air Force leader is in your hands. With the help of AFROTC, you can accomplish your dreams and goals. Welcome to the detachment and good luck this semester!

Cadet Wing Commander
